Amir Khan's ambitious challenge to pound-for-pound star Terence Crawford is set to be signed and finalised.
It is understood all major terms have been agreed on the deal that would see Khan face the unbeaten WBO welterweight champion on April 20, most likely in New York.
An announcement has been scheduled for the early part of next week, assuming there are no 11th-hour hitches in the talks.

It is expected that contracts will be signed either on Thursday or Friday, before Khan leaves for his training camp in the US next week.
The fight, which will net the 32-year-old in the region of £4m, will kill the possibility of an imminent showdown between Khan and his long-time British rival Kell Brook.
It is fascinating that Khan has instead opted to take a lesser payday to face Crawford, a three-division world champion and one of the leading fighters at any weight.

Khan is likely to fight the American in New York and will make around £4million
His record stands at 34 wins from 34 fights with 25 knockouts and world titles at lightweight and light-welterweight, in which he held all four major belts.
Khan, who last held a world title in 2012, will fight in the US for the first time since his knockout loss against Canelo Alvarez in May 2016.
Khan tweeted on Wednesday night: 'Not long to go. Big announcement coming soon.'
